What’s Holding You Back From Video Marketing?
One of the biggest responses that I have received when asking, “Why are you not marketing yourself through video?”, has been – IM AFRAID. I then follow that up with, “would you rather be afraid…or make more money?”
I completely understand being concerned with how we are perceived on video; whether it’s the way we look, sound, or simply how we are portrayed as a whole by the viewer. That makes absolute sense to be conscious of those different elements, but what concerns me, is the fact that we KNOW today’s consumer consistently turns to the web in search for their next potential Real Estate Professional, yet we fail to position ourselves for that opportunity.
So, in order to help you cross this finish line, not only am I going to grab you by the shirt and drag you across but I am also going to give you a list of products that you can use in order to stand out from your competitor.
1. HD Camera – the quality of your video definitely matters, and there are some very inexpensive finds out there. I use the Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam to shoot my footage, and in most cases you can locate it online for less than $70.
2. External Microphone – audio plays a key factor when delivering your message. Although there are many different microphones out there. I utilize the Blue Yeti Multi-Pattern USB Microphone and I have received nothing but great feed back from my loyal listeners.
3. Lighting – video lighting ultimately drives the eye of the viewer where you want them to go and also sets the tone of the video. I use a SOFT BOX KIT, and you can usually find them online around $100.
Now that we have the products nailed down, let’s create a structured process to follow that ensures your videos have a topic, main points, and a solid closing. This all goes back to my prior blog talking about CONTENT STRATEGY. Here is an example of what your preparation may look like –
TOPIC: The Appraisal Process
-
What is an appraisal?
-
How is it assessed?
-
What is the importance of having a Realtor walk the property beforehand?
CLOSING: Call to Action (SMS, Email Address, Phone Number, etc)
This structure should be executed for every new video you create…and remember when sharing your knowledge with the masses, your goal is to ENTERTAIN, EDUCATE, and EMPOWER the consumer. I look forward to seeing your growth through video marketing and feel free to share your progress in the comment box below.
